Marketplaces & Classifieds web data

Know the supply side of every platform. Listings, sellers, prices and velocity, across your category.

Import.io collects listings, sellers, prices, availability and changes from marketplaces and classified sites. Marketplace, trust and intelligence teams receive structured lifecycle records through an API or managed feed, with sellers resolved across platforms where public data supports matching.

You can see your own liquidity. Now see everyone’s.

Marketplaces win on liquidity, and liquidity is visible. Every competitor’s live listings, new supply, removals, prices and sellers are on their public pages — if you can read them at scale and track each listing through its life. Import.io runs sustained collection across the largest platforms, including 450 million queries a year on a single feed.

Your dashboards show your supply and your demand. They can’t show the seller who lists on four platforms and prices lowest on your rival, the category a competitor is quietly seeding, or how fast similar items sell elsewhere. All of that is public; it just changes every hour.

Tracking a listing through its life — first seen, price changes, last seen, removed — turns snapshots into velocity. Resolving sellers across platforms turns listings into a supply map. For retail marketplaces, the same feed can track seller promotions, seller-specific price and availability, sponsored rank and Buy Box winners.

The hard parts, handled.

What breaks when this is done with scripts, and how Import.io handles it.

01

Lifecycle, not snapshots

Each listing is tracked from first seen to removal, so velocity and time-to-sell are measured, not guessed.

02

Search caps

Platforms cap how many results a search returns; queries are segmented by category, price and location so coverage is complete.

03

Seller resolution

Sellers are matched across platforms by identifiers, names, contact patterns and inventory overlap, with confidence scores.

04

Sustained scale

Collection runs continuously at marketplace volumes without tripping defences, and blocked requests are not billed.

How a program is scoped.

A clear operating plan before collection begins.

01

Sources

Agree the public sites, pages and coverage the program needs.

02

Schema and fields

Define the entities, fields and validation rules for each structured record.

03

Delivery cadence

Set the refresh schedule and choose API or managed-feed delivery.

Three ways to get it.

Same capture engine underneath each one.

data scope

Programs collect publicly displayed listings. Private sellers’ personal data is minimised and aggregated by default; seller-level views cover business sellers.

Marketplaces & Classifieds questions.

Straight answers.

Can you estimate sales from listings?

Removal from a platform is a strong proxy for a sale, not proof. We track each listing’s lifecycle and report removals, so you can calibrate against your own data.

How do you get complete coverage when search results are capped?

Queries are segmented by category, price band and location until every segment returns under the platform’s cap, then merged and deduplicated.

Can you identify the same seller on different platforms?

Business sellers are resolved across platforms using identifiers, names, contact patterns and inventory overlap, each with a confidence score.

How fresh is the data?

Hourly for fast categories, daily for the rest. Lifecycle fields — first seen, last seen, removed — are updated on every pass.

What about private sellers’ data?

Minimised and aggregated by default. Seller-level analysis is limited to business sellers.
