This Privacy Policy explains how Import.io Corporation (“Import.io”, “we”, “us”) handles personal information when you visit our website or use our Service. We keep it as short as the law allows, and we collect only what we need to run the Service.

1. Who is responsible

Import.io is the controller of personal information about our website visitors, account holders and business contacts. When our customers use the Service to collect data from websites, that data belongs to them: they are the controller and Import.io processes it on their behalf under our Data Processing Agreement. If you believe a customer has collected information about you, please contact that customer; we will pass on any request we receive.

2. What we collect

  • Account and contact details you give us, such as your name, work email, company and role.
  • Billing details, including payment information handled through our payment processor.
  • Usage and device information, such as log data, IP address, browser, pages viewed and actions in the Service.
  • Communications with us, including support requests and survey responses.
  • Information from cookies and similar technologies, including analytics and tools that help us understand which companies visit our website (see section 6).

3. How we use it, and why

  • To provide the Service and your account — necessary for our contract with you.
  • To keep the Service secure and prevent abuse — our legitimate interest in protecting the Service and our customers.
  • To understand and improve our website and Service — our legitimate interests, or your consent where the law requires it.
  • To send you relevant updates and marketing — your consent or our legitimate interests where the law allows. You can unsubscribe at any time.
  • To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.

4. Who we share it with

We share personal information with service providers who help us run the business, such as hosting, payments, analytics, customer support and communication tools; with companies in the Neuralogics group that support the Service; with professional advisers; with authorities where the law requires it; and with a buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganised. We do not sell personal information for money. Some analytics and advertising cookies may count as “sharing” under California law; you can opt out through your cookie settings.

5. International transfers

We and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. Where information leaves the UK, EU or Switzerland, we use recognised safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the UK Addendum.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies that are essential to run the website and Service, and, with your permission where required, analytics and marketing technologies including Google Analytics, PostHog, Microsoft Clarity, 6sense and Warmly. You can change your choices at any time in your cookie settings or your browser.

7. How long we keep it

We keep personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed for the purposes above, then for as long as required for legal, tax or dispute purposes, after which we delete or anonymise it.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain uses, to withdraw consent, and to opt out of marketing or of the sale or sharing of personal information. We will not treat you differently for using these rights. To make a request, contact us at legal@import.io. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.

9. Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal information. To report a security issue, email security@import.io.

10. Children

The Service is for businesses and is not directed at anyone under 18.

11. Changes

We may update this policy and will post the current version here, with notice of material changes where required.
