CDO Andrew Fogg after winning the PITCH competition at Web Summit
Last week was a whirlwind of travel, pitching and events.
TechCrunch Disrupt
On Monday our CEO David White and CDO Andrew Fogg arrived in Berlin for the first round of the Startup Battlefield competition at TechCrunch Disrupt Europe. The format for the Battlefield was a 6 minute pitch followed by a 6 minute Q&A from the judges. On the first day David and Andrew pitched to Eileen Burbidge from Passion Capital, Thomas Korte from AngelPad, Robert Pollak from SV Angel and Reshma Sohoni from Seedcamp. The pitch went really well, and later that afternoon we found out we were one of 4 finalists chosen to pitch in the following afternoon!

The next day David and Andrew pitched again (you can watch the video above), this time to a different panel of judges which included some of the biggest names in tech: TechCrunch founder Michael Arrington, Bindi Karia from Silicon Valley Bank, Errol Damelin from Wonga, Angel investor Klaus Hommels, Neil Rimer from IndexVentures and Dave McClure of 500Startups. The pitch went well and we got some good feedback from the judges, but ultimately we didn’t take home the Disrupt Cup.
In addition to pitching, we also had a stand for both days of the conference in the Startup Alley.

Web Summit
On Wednesday we had to hop over to Dublin for Web Summit. CTO Matt Painter and CDO Andrew Fogg were on deck to pitch in the Beta PITCH competition. 150 startups pitched on the first day, and we were selected as part of the 8 who pitched in the semi-finals on Thursday. The competition was really strong and we were thrilled to be selected as one of the 3 finalists to pitch on the Main Stage in front of an impressive list of judges including Box CEO Aaron Levie, blogger Robert Scoble and Evernote CEO Phil Libin. After a true lightening pitch – Andrew had to do a 4 minute presentation in 3 minuets – and a few questions from the judges it was finally announced that we were the winners!
“We are focused on growing our company and it means a lot to us to win an international competition like this. My co-founders David and Matt and the entire team will be thrilled with this recognition of their efforts” – Andrew Fogg
It was a long and very tiring week! And after the announcement of our win at Web Summit, the team were able to do some much needed celebrating! We would like to thank everyone who has helped and supported us in our journey over the past year. You know who you are, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
