On the 29th November David White (import•io founder and CEO) attended the ‘Data Does Xmas Party’ at the Nordic Bar London, for an evening celebrating some of the best data focused companies in the industry. It was there that the winners of the Londata Awards 2012 were announced.
After being nominated along with Narrative Science, chirp.io, Chart.io and Zoomdata, we are pleased to annouce that import•io won ‘Best Data Newcomer’ by a landslide of 99 votes, out of the possible 212.

We would like to thank all of you who voted for us. David was thrilled to accept the prize of a Nokia 800 on behalf of the whole team at import•io. In addition, we send our thanks to Richard Edwards from Media Science and Londata Events and Stewart Townsend from Datasift for hosting an enjoyable evening.
Our fellow winners included; Simon Rogers from The Guardian who won the ‘Data Evangelist Award’, The Guardian who won ‘Most Interesting Company in Data’, Nate Silver from FiveThirtyEight who won ‘Best Use of Data in 2012’ for working with data during the US election and Google who won ‘Best enterprise data company’.
